Different Stages Of Culture Your Organization Reflects

This is from famous book Tribal Leadership.  Long ago before even reading this book I wrote a post in 2010 "ME WE" that resembles stage 2 culture in an organization.  According to Tribal Leadership, Stage 2 culture is a group of people who says, "my life sucks".  

Note:  The above views are not entirely mine but represented from the book.  I highly recommend you to read this  book.  

Today in this post I want to mention about below stages (Also mentioned here) that are persists in an organization.  

Stage 1 says, "Life sucks".  Their view is that whole world is bad place and life is just the way it is.  

Stage 2 says, "My life sucks".  Their view is their own life sucks because they can see that their bosses are doing great.   This stage reflects lots of cynicism.

Stage 3 says, "I am great".  They are self-centric and their view is that I am great and you are not.  I know this and you don't.  They don't reflect the "WE" spirit.

Stage 4 says, "We are great".  Their view is that we are a great team to work.  They believe in collaboration and believe that great work cannot be done in isolation.   They have to function as a team.

Stage 5 says, "Life is great".  Their view is that life is great.  They believe in working for something so remarkable that will change lives of millions of people.  Their competition is not with other companies but with themselves.

So what does your company look like?  How people talk in your organization?

Organizations move from stage 1 to stage 5 and also from stage 5 to either stage.  However very few can reach level 5.

A Make Sure List For Every Meeting To Stay On Track

Some projects last for a long period of time and lots of meetings are conducted to get the project done.  During those meetings lots of things are discussed.  Lots of decisions are being made and responsibilities being assigned.  At the same time not everything that was important gets accomplished.  It is because other priorities took over and that one thing which was important never got done.  And nobody bothered to revisit it. Sugar A Status Symbol ! Really !

Sugar a symbol of status ! Really !   In the seventeenth century sugar was an item of luxury and it was considered as a status symbol.   It was very expensive item and of course the technology didn't existed to mass produce sugar from sugar cane. Suddenly they started producing more and more sugar flooding the market.  So prices decreased.  And sugar was added to everything into coffee, tea, dairy products etc.  It was turned into a necessity.   I was surprised to read this and you should read this   Sugar turned into a necessity . For more people to consume sugar they started promoting benefits of sugar.  Middle class also started consuming because a luxury item then was now affordable and they started consuming sugar like anything.
