Continuous Improvement

Google 's founder Sergy Brin and Larry Page once commented about their search engine, "The later to visit our site the better for you."  The reasoning behind this was they would then have more time to improve the site. Guy Kawasaki says, "If you feel the product is ready then ship it, and then improve it later, users will figure out the flaws and stay with it."  Every product and organization goes through stages.  They aren't perfect the first time but they improve along the way.  If you feel perfection is preventing you from shipping than think again.  Think about Google's so many products they all aren't perfect except few.  But they are good at bring to those users who are already there and continuously improve from customer feedback. If you feel your resume is not perfect, never mind think in terms of versions or drafts.  Think as a Beta version of your resume.  Get feedback from industry experts and improve it.  If you want t...

The Only Resource

God gave us one resource equally to all of us in this world. And that resource is Time. Isn't that been mentioned thousands and millions of times that "Time is equal to Money". But lets face it how many people take it seriously? Well some people do care and so they stand out of the crowd. Some jam pack their daily schedule to do as much as possible(Workalcholics). Where some do little and free up their schedule. Some people try to do same work every day while some try out differnt things everyday. So Have you done something different today than what you did yesterday? Yes we all do different things. It is that choice of doing something different in a given time sets us apart. If you ask a group of people like "what would you do in your FREE time?". Just observe the different answers you get. Some will choose to do Facebooking, Listen to music, watch video, watch TV, play games, spend time with family, spend some time alone, read books, meet people, write a b...

What is Magic anyway?

What is a Magic anyway?   Magic to most of us is a Godly skill that a normal human being cannot, and does not possess.  When you think of magic which names comes to your mind instantaneously?  Harry Houdini and David Blaine are the names that are associated with word "world famous magicians". We need to redefine the word "Magic".  It is skill practiced by people who are highly focused, determined, passionate and practiced it millions of times.  And yes they love doing it.  Now think again, the names associated with such a skills.   The number of names increases certainly. Magic is done every day, and every second in our life.   Steve Jobs , founder of Apple company, practiced his skill of presenting great ideas a million times.  He does magic, Changed an entire Industry.   Michael Jackson practiced the famous Moon walk a million times.  He did magic, Changed an entire Industry.  A mother makes bread e...

How to find everything?

Image
How some people just find about everything they are looking for? They can find anything in Google . In real life too there are many people who get what they want. It depends in our approach and how we look at a problem or a task. I try to correlate virtual world with real world. Our lives reflect almost the same way we do search online. What you do if you don't find something? You will ask some one right. If you don't find anything on Google , user other search engines, ask someone in forums, blogs , websites, place a comment, tweet about it, find user groups online or help them if you know. Our real life is no different . If you don't find anything look for help. Ask some one who knows about it friends, your boss, family, a commuter or a professor. Find people of similar interest groups, connect with them, ask them questions, find more people, build a network, call them or just help them.

Learning from the few

Why very few Start up companies are successful? Why very few individuals are Billionaires? 9 out 10 companies fail within first five years of their formation and 9 out 10 such companies fail within 10 years. So is the success rate of new start up companies. Hence we do not see a Google, a Microsoft, an amazon.com every day being formed. Our lives are quite similar. Not everyone can become Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Albert Einstein or Warren Buffet. What sets them apart from the crowd? Successful Start ups and Billionaires have few things in common. 1) Clear cut goals 2) 3 year, 5 year, 10 year plans 3) Vision for the future 4) Strategic partnerships 5) Continuous improvement 6) Invest in R&D 7) Invest in Human capital 8) Invest in long term Assets 9) Hard work and persistent effort 10) Passionate How can these have an impact in our daily life and our career?
